Seit 1947 arbeitete er ständig an der Fakultät für Geographie der Staatlichen Universität Moskau , wo er zunächst Leiter der Abteilung für Geschichte der geographischen Wissenschaften (1949-1950) und dann Leiter der Abteilung für Geodäsie und Kartographie (seit 1950) war. Doktor der Technischen Wissenschaften (1940), Professor (1936), Vizerektor der Staatlichen Universität Moskau (1947- 1954). Gründer der wissenschaftlichen Schule für geographische Kartographie. Die Hauptwerke zur Theorie der Kartographie, Kartographie, Geschichte der Kartographie, sowie die Probleme der komplexen thematischen Kartographie." ],
