Später folgte die Ausbildung zum Schreibberater und Schreibcoach an der Zürcher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissen­schaften (ZHAW). Einstieg in den Lokaljournalismus beim damaligen Badener Tagblatt, später Ressort­leiter, dann Leiter Regionen und Mitglied der Redaktions­leitung bei der Aargauer Zeitung. Heute schreibt Jörg Meier als Kolumnist jeden Tag eine neue Folge der \"Meiereien\". Zudem betreut er die Volontäre und Stagiaires der az Aargauer Zeitung. Daneben unterrichtet er am MAZ - der Schweizer Journalisten­schule und ist Dozent an der Pädagogischen Hoch­schule Zentral­schweiz (PHZ). In der Freizeit schreibt er Texte für Kinder und verfasst Theater­stücke. Oder er reist mit seinen 1000 Geschichten durchs Land.
