He is Director of Institute of Computer Sciences, Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology. The main research interest of Professor Rybinski is in intelligent information systems, including semantic web, data and text mining, and knowledge representation. His main research has be en concentrated on semantic data models (use of logic for database semantics specification), data mining algorithms, rough set theory in knowledge discovery and representation. Professor Rybinski is the author of 7 books and more th an 130 scientific public ations in the area of information systems, including papers, international conference presentations. Moreover, he prepared some 40 technical reports and many teaching aids for UNIDO, FAO, UNESCO. He was invited to programme committees of numerous internati onal scientific conferences. For some 35 years Professor Rybinski has been conducting various projects for automating libraries, and building archival and information systems for various types of users, including governmental agencies, and UN organizations international bodies (IFRC, Geneva, IUCN, Bonn, IDLO, Rome) as well as, NGO (OeFSE, Austria, TERMNET (Austria)" ],
