Danach wechselte er als Leitender Oberarzt an die Klinik für Psychiatrie und Psychotherapie der Philipps-Universität Marburg, wo er 1998 seine Habilitation im Fach \"Psychiatrie und Psychotherapie\" abschloss. Seit 2002 war er Chefarzt der Klinik für Psychiatrie, Psychotherapie und Psychosomatik am Bezirksklinikum Mainkofen. Bereits ein Jahr später erfolgte die Ernennung zum Ärztlichen Direktor des Bezirksklinikums Mainkofen. Neben vielen Zusatzausbildungen im Laufe der Jahre und seinem Wirken als außerplanmäßiger Professor an der Philipps-Universität Marburg und der Universität Regensburg war Prof. Schreiber von 2011 bis 2021 auch als Sprecher der Konferenz der Ärztlichen Direktoren der bayerischen Fachkrankenhäuser für Psychiatrie, Psychotherapie und Psychosomatik aktiv sowie Vorstandsmitglied des Verbandes leitender Ärztinnen und Ärzte der Kliniken für Psychiatrie und Psychotherapie (BDK)." ],
