Bereits an der Schauspielschule debütierte er im Fach Regie. 2011 gewann er mit der Gruppe Zahmundheiter den Rudolf-von-Ems-Preis des Homunculus Festivals in Hohenems (Österreich). Während seines letzten Studienjahres wurde er als Gast ans Magdeburger Puppentheater geholt, wo er seit Abschluss seines Studiums festes Ensemblemitglied ist. Mit ihren Spielerkollegen eroberte sie die Turnhalle auf dem Gelände des Puppentheaters und gründete das ensemblegeleitete Café Monaco, ein neues, experimentelles Format des Puppentheaters, der dem Ensemble als selbstbestimmter Spielort dient. Am Magdeburger Puppentheater kam es mit Das Blaue Licht (2015), Die Drei Räuber (2017) und Schimmelreiter (2018) zu weiteren Regiearbeiten von Leonhard Schubert." ],
